THINGS WE DO
PET BEHAVIOUR AND TRAINING
At Evervet, our Behaviour Consultations evaluate various pet behaviour issues, providing tailored treatment plans based on health records and history, including behaviour modification techniques. We equip pet owners with effective strategies, aiming for a harmonious relationship.
Maximising Your Pet's Potential through Attentive Care and Support
The behaviour consults at Evervet are done by Dr Thulasi Sarvananthar (Thulz). Thulz obtained memberships with the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in the area of Behaviour Medicine in 2016. During this time, she worked at an animal shelter and realised the importance of preventative behaviour medicine and providing assistance to struggling pets early.
The behaviour consult aims to enhance the bond between you and your pet. Through working together, we can provide a tailored approach, focusing on your pet's specific needs. We will also try to get a deeper understanding of the motivations of your pet's behaviour, and determine if there are any other contributing factors. During the consult, we will discuss if medications are indicated and work out some practical management strategies. We also can make recommendations for certified, fear-free, reward-based behaviour modification trainers if further assistance is required.
We understand that all pets are different
No two pets are the same. Working with you, we will combine a number of reward-based training techniques to make sure your pet is living their best life.
There are a range of reasons why a pet may benefit from a behavioural assessment. Some of these may include excessive barking, destructive habits, aggression and repetitive tendencies to name a few.
By booking in for our individualised, fear-free behaviour program, we will:
conduct a through investigation
We will collect a through history to help understand your pet’s behaviours, discuss the diagnosis with you and explain why these behaviours are occurring.
TRAINING
If you are working in conjunction with a qualified, reward-based dog trainer this will give you a unique opportunity to better understand, manage and modify your dog's behaviour.
PROBLEM SOLVE
Some behaviours may be more easily resolved, while others can take many months of gradual behaviour modification. A thorough assessment will help give you the answers you need to make the best decisions for your pet & family.

a WELL-ROUNDED approach
