Early Detection and Diagnostic Precision

Symptoms

Recognising the early signs of cancer in your pet is crucial. Keep an eye out for symptoms such as unusual lumps or bumps, unexplained weight loss, changes in appetite, difficulty breathing, persistent coughing, lethargy, and changes in behaviour. If you notice any of these signs, it's important to consult with our expert pet oncologists for a thorough evaluation.

Diagnosis

Our veterinary oncology team employs advanced diagnostic techniques to accurately identify and characterise cancer in your pet. This may involve physical examinations, blood tests, imaging (such as X-rays, ultrasound, or a referral for an MRI), and in some cases, biopsies. A precise diagnosis is the foundation for tailoring an effective treatment plan.

Procedures and tailored treatments for your pet

Surgery

Depending on the type and stage of cancer, our team may recommend surgical procedures to remove tumours, lymph nodes, or affected tissues. Our focus is not only on effective treatment but also on maintaining your pet's quality of life throughout the process.

Treatments

Our approach to pet oncology treatment is multifaceted and personalised. We discuss treatment options with you, taking into account your pet's health, age, and overall well-being. Treatment options may include surgery, radiation therapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and chemotherapy.

Chemotherapy

Chemotherapy is an essential component of pet oncology that aims to control or eliminate cancer cells. Contrary to popular belief, chemotherapy in pets is often better tolerated than in humans and is carefully administered with your pet's comfort in mind. Our veterinary oncology team closely monitors your pet's response to treatment and adjusts the plan as needed.
